Being tourists and close friends in Beijing

Daily life

We were looking for a store in particular, and a girl saw we were lost so she helped us find it. Along the way she took us past Tiananmen square, here, there are people from all over China. People were talking, laughing, crying…It’s very funny, here, babies have holes cut through their clothes at the front and back so they don’t have to wear diapers. When we got what we needed the girl left us and we went to get some water. At this point Dad got angry at the price of the water and went into a long discussion until he got it down to the real price. We decide to get the subway back to our hotel. We bought tickets after finding the route to take to the station nearest our hotel. In the subway, there were tons of people, we even saw a man fainting. When we got out Dad filmed and took some photographs of a smelly, river. We sat in a park and talked a while. Then we went back to the Hui restaurant near our hotel and ate the same food again. Then we went to check our mail at the old hotel. I spoke to Mom, Djanan, Jianping’s friend from Xian, and also Feng Bou, who said there were no more seats left on the train leaving tomorrow but that he would get us tickets for the day after. I told Dad, who suggested we go see the Olympic stadium tomorrow. We went back to our hotel where I wrote a little bit then went to sleep.
